

Meet Laura
​
Laura is the founder of This is Dyslexia. She’s a qualified specialist teacher and dyslexia assessor with over 20 years of experience across primary, secondary, independent and state schools.
Laura holds an Assessment Practising Certificate (APC) which means her diagnostic reports are fully recognised for access arrangements, including the Disabled Students’ Allowance (DSA) in higher education.
In addition to her qualifications in dyslexia assessment, Laura has a Postgraduate Diploma in SEND and Inclusion and is a qualified SENCO.
Through This is Dyslexia, Laura’s mission is simple: to help people understand how their brain works, access the support they deserve and move forward with confidence.

Laura offers face to face assessments at the Canterbury Dyslexia Centre and remote assessments.

Laura is a specialist teacher and assessor with a wealth of teaching and leading experience across primary, secondary, mainstream and specialist provisions.
​
Laura has an Assessment Practice Certificate with PATOSS which means that Laura’s diagnostic reports meet the criteria for Disabled Students Allowance.
​
In addition to Laura’s qualifications for assessing dyslexia, she has a post-graduate diploma in SEND and she is a qualified SENCO. This means she tends to have a broader understanding of a range of needs which helps with onward referrals for any co-occurring needs.
