What is an adult dyslexia assessment?
An adult dyslexia assessment is a comprehensive diagnostic evaluation used to identify dyslexia in adults.
It assesses:
-
phonological processing
-
working memory
-
processing speed
-
reading accuracy and fluency
-
spelling and written expression
This creates a full cognitive profile, identifying both strengths and areas of difficulty.
Dyslexia is not about intelligence. It's about processing.
Dyslexia is a difference in how the brain processes language and information.
A diagnosis doesn’t label you.
It explains you.

What happens in your assessment.
Step 1: Before your assessment.
You complete a background questionnaire so the assessment is tailored to you. You will need to have had a recent eye test completed and if you need a prescription for glasses, you will need to be wearing the new glasses at the time of assessment.
Step 2: Assessment session (approximately 2 - 2.5 hours)
A one-to-one session exploring:
-
memory
-
processing
-
reading and writing
-
language skills
Step 3: Your diagnostic report.
Once the assessments have been completed, a comprehensive report will be written and sent to you approximately 3 weeks after the assessment. There is a fast track option if you have a deadline for the report.

What's included in your diagnostic report.
Your diagnostic report is far more than a set of scores. It is a comprehensive document that explains how your brain processes information and what this means for learning, study and work. Every report is written with care, clarity and precision so you walk away knowing exactly what your strengths are, where the barriers lie and what to do next.
A clear conclusion
The report confirms whether dyslexia is present and outlines the specific profile of strengths and difficulties that led to the conclusion. This gives you the clarity many people have been seeking for years.
Standardised assessment results
All reading, spelling, writing, memory and processing tasks are presented with standardised scores. These are explained in plain English so you understand what each measure shows about your learning profile.
Strengths and areas of difficulty
The report highlights cognitive and literacy strengths, alongside areas that require support. This balanced profile is essential for building confidence and planning effective next steps.
Detailed interpretation of findings
Every section includes explanation of what the results mean day-to-day—for example, how phonological difficulties might affect reading accuracy, or how processing speed can impact study or workplace tasks.
Impact on learning, work and daily life
We connect the assessment findings to real situations. This helps you understand how dyslexia shows up in practical terms.
